Snapshot

“Snapshot” was designed and created while Susan was a participant in the Bullseye Glass Company/ Columbia Wire & Iron Works, Architects in Residence program called “Betweenness”. Working with the optical qualities of light and glass, Susan was taken with the seemingly infinite depth of the internal space of the layers of glass, as well as the ability of glass to simultaneously achieve the conflicting desires of connection and separation. The steel frame has casters so that the screen can influence the use of a space, such as being pulled across an opening of a door or a window.
