Combining architecture, interior spatial design and artful planning, Susan Emmons Studio specializes in creating compelling functional and aesthetically aware solutions, in the corporate, manufacturing and residential realms. The work is strongly influenced by the objective of enriched interactions between the user and the space in which they work and live. Guiding principles are the simplicity of form and elegance of function. The designs of Susan Emmons Studio respond to the unique circumstance of a project and offer clear solutions to the client’s needs.
Working closely with the client to understand given circumstances, possibilities are investigated, solutions are examined, building consensus to develop a reasoned and coherent answer.
Susan graduated from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design with a Master of Architecture Degree. Before founding her own studio in Portland, Oregon she has worked in New York, London, Chicago and Los Angeles. She has taught architecture and associated subjects at Harvard, UCLA, Portland State University and the University of Oregon.
