“Heartbird”
Heartbird was designed to hang in the Jack, Will, and Rob Center in Camas, WA. The Center is an afterschool facility for the youth in Camas, built in memory of three boys from the community who were killed when the small airplane in which they were riding, crashed into the Columbia River. The family and the community were devastated. This center houses activities that the boys had loved, to be available for all. Heartbird is based on a drawing symbolizing their spirits, that their younger sister created after the accident. Many, many volunteers contributed hours and hours of time to make this center a reality. Each year a volunteer is honored and their star added to the constellation around the Heartbird.
